The reliability analysis apply in the deepen of gasoline cylinder avoid pits

The cylinder bore deepen 5 millimeter for the engine displacement increasing. On the process of cylinder honing, the honing probe needs to down 5 millimeter. In order to avoid the cutting tools, the avoid pits need to move 5 millimeter toward the direction of the main bearing caps. Designers couldn´╝çt confirm whether the changes would influence the strength of cylinder. The CAE analysis methods would be applied which include building the crank dynamic model and finite element model. Extraction of the multiple angles of dynamic load working on the main bearing shell, together with the maximum preload and shell radial interference load on the finite element model. The analysis results showed that the strength of cylinder satisfied the design limit. The changed cylinder finished the reliability test and the effect of test is well.
