Study on the Precipitation Characteristics of MnS Inclusions in Steel during Different Cooling Conditions

Laboratory and Industrial experiment found that different cooling conditions have great influence on the characteristic changes of MnS inclusion. The results show that with the increasing of cooling rate, the size of MnS inclusions reduced gradually and the number distribution of MnS inclusions also close gradually. That the relationship between cooling rate and characteristics of inclusions is revealed through experiment can be used to establish the relationship between sulfide size in practical steel mills with sampling method, which lay crucial theoretical foundation for improving the efficiency of detection and analysis of non-metallic inclusions in steel.
