Study on Effects of Scaling Velocity on Reactor Integral Hydraulic Characteristics

In the present study, scaling methodology and CFD simulation are conducted to investigate the reactor integral hydraulic characteristics on a 1/3 scaled-down reactor model. Pressure drop of reactor, flow distribution at core inlet and mixing characteristics in lower plenum under different scaling velocities are mainly analyzed, which reveals that the effect of scaling velocity is slight, since the flow in the model is well into sufficient turbulent region under the investigated flow conditions. This study can provide reference for reactor integral hydraulic experiment.
