Simulation of Residual Stress Neutron Diffractometer Experiment with Fe Sample

This paper uses the Monte Carlo program McStas developed by Ris φDTU Denmark and ILL France to calculate diffraction peak intensities and FWHMs of α-Fe(110) with different monochromator take -off an-gles(10°~120°).The FoMs are therefore calculated .Peak intensities and FWHMs for different α-Fe diffrac-tion planes are simulated when the take -off angle is fixed at 50°.Finally the influence of column shaped sam-ple radius on intensities and FWHMs is evaluated .The results of simulation experiment could offer necessary reference data for the setup and operation of Residual Stress Neutron Diffractometer .
