Research and Production of Aramid Fiber Spaceborne Antenna

In this paper,the compositions of spiral antenna made of aramid fiber /Epoxy composites were briefly described, and the manufacturing process, material selection and feature were explored. The results suggested that this kind of composite antenna has the advantage of weight loss over traditional fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP)composite or aluminum alloy antenna. In addition,the spiral antenna passed the space environment tests, its electrical performances including voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR),gain,and axial ratio satisfied the design requirements.
