Investigation on Emissions Characteristics of China V Compliant Natural Gas Engine

A natural gas engine compliant with China V emission standard was tested on a CVS test bench according to the ETC and WHTC test procedure to analyze the characteristics of conventional and unconventional emissions. The results show that the conventional emissions of the natural gas engine under WHTC are higher than under ETC, while the conventional emissions under cold start are higher than under hot start. The SO2 emission under ETC is higher than under WHTC, while the SO2 emission under cold start is higher than under hot start. The aldehyde compound emissions are lower. The benzene and toluene emissions in the VOCs are higher. The benzene and toluene emissions under WHTC are higher than under ETC, while the benzene and toluene emissions under cold start are higher than under hot start.
