Influence of granularity of pulverized coal on compressive strength of preheated carbon-containing pellets

To find out the influence mechanism of granularity of pulverized coal on compressive strength of pellets,the compressive strength of carbon-containing pellets containing different granularity pulverized coal at various temperatures in neutral atmosphere was investigated.The results showed that when the temperature was lower than 1 000 ℃,the granularity of pulverized coal had little impact on the compressive strength of carbon-containing pellets.But as the temperature was higher than 1 000 ℃,the granularity had a significant effect on the compressive strength. When the granularity was 0.074-0.106 mm,the compressive strength was the highest after reduction.If the granularity was too small or too large,it would not be beneficial to improving the compressive strength.In the high-temperature reduction process,the finer the granularity was,the greater the reduction rate of carbon-containing pellets and the higher the metallization rate of pellets.
