Estimation of Mass-to-drag Ratio of Reentry Ballistic Targets Based on CKF Algorithm

For the estimation of mass-to-drag ratio of reentry ballistic targets with traditional Extended Kalman Filter,the convergence rate is slow and the estimation accuracy is not high enough,a mass-to-drag ratio estimation algorithm based on Cubature Kalman Filter(CKF)is proposed.Performance comparison of estimation of reentry ballistic targets’mass-to-drag ratio based on Extended Kalman Filter and Cubature Kalman Filter is given.Simulation results show that estimation of mass-to-drag ratio of reentry ballistic targets with Cubature Kalman Filter is superior to that with Extended Kalman Filter in both convergence rate and estimation accuracy.
