Comparison of Main Characteristics between Flat and Cylindrical Double-layer Ionization Chamber

In order to meet the needs of real-time monitoring of tritium in high radon environment,the flat and cylindrical double-layer ionization chamber is designed based on the principle of energy screening,and carrying out the study about the main characteristics of two kinds of ionization chamber,the results show that:The flat type ionization chamber is easier to obtain the larger sensitive volume and lower the detection limit,the theoretical detectable concentration is 6. 5 × 104 Bq/m3,and cylindrical ionization chamber has a better α compensation ability. The internal electric field was simulated by using Maxwell 3 D,The result shows that the electric field inside cylindrical ionization chamber is better than that of flat ionization chamber. Based on the simulation results,the electric field of flat ionization chamber is optimized.
